I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weather as much as I am! I keep saying that I hope winter is gone for good, but people keep telling me that it is probably too much to hope for. I’m going to think positive!
Hopefully the weather will stay nice through Easter though. The ladies of Beta Sigma Phi are planning their annual Easter Egg Hunt for April 4 at 1pm in Father Padilla Park for kids 8 years old and younger. Last year they collection 4,150 eggs and I bet this year we can all help them break that number! The Chamber received a generous donation of 30 dozen plastic eggs and we’re looking for people to fill them with goodies. If you are interested in helping give our kids a great event and you don’t have any eggs to fill yet, stop by the office and pick up a few bags.
March 21 is the deadline to have your eggs filled and taped and turned in. Primary drop off location is First Impressions, but I can take them at the Chamber office as well.
April is going to be a busy month, be sure and keep an eye on our community calendar on the Chamber website, tricountycofc.com, or on our Facebook page for all the fun details!
It’s time for another Think Local First Cash Mob! Our local Pizza Hut donates back to our community so much and hosts so many fundraisers for local people and groups; let’s show them how much we appreciate them in our community! Come out for the lunch buffet next Monday between 11 am and 1 pm and be entered to win the $60 Cash Mob prize basket. Pizza Hut will also be doing some additional giveaways. Come out and enjoy a great lunch and maybe win some great prizes.
Also on Monday the 16th, be sure and visit the Hospital Auxiliary’s Book Fair in the PT Hallway of the Hospital. Get some great reading material and support your local hospital.
The members of Beta Sigma Phi are starting to make calls about donations for the annual Easter Egg Hunt on April 4. Last year they had 4,150 eggs. Let’s see if we can beat that number this year! If you would like to donate plastic eggs filled with goodies (candy or other treats) contact Tonya Utech, Mary Schaffer, or myself.
The Throttle Jockey’s 4th Annual Car Show is going to be bigger and better than ever this year! The Visit Herington Tourism Board and the American Legion Riders are teaming up to host a street dance on Friday night, April 24, with the Clearview Band. Bring the family out, as they close down Broadway for a great community dance. The Car Show will be Saturday morning, April 25, from 8 am to 1 pm. Street closures will start around 6 am.
Please be aware of the street closures and respect the barriers. It just takes a few extra minutes of your time to take an alternate route to your destination. Please do not go around the barriers once they are in place. Not only is it inconsiderate, but it’s potentially dangerous. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
