If you missed the Hope Chili Bowl last Sunday, you missed a good time and great chili! Lorna Morgan’s Hawaiian chili was my favorite with the buffalo chicken chili a close second. Way to go HCDG for another great event.
It’s time to get your tickets for the Chamber’s annual Recognition and Community Awards Dinner. We’ve lowered ticket prices this year to $15 per person because we want as many people to attend as possible!
We’ve added some facets to the event including an Organization Showcase during the social hour. From 6 pm to 7 pm, any group or organization can have a table to attract members, recruit volunteers, or just promote your organization’s purpose and upcoming events. It’s free and you do not have to buy a ticket and stay for the dinner if you do not want to. We’d love it if you did, but it’s not required.
We’ve also added a theme to the event: Hat’s Off To You! We’ll be tipping our hats to the many great members and citizens that make our communities so awesome; so pull out your favorite hat, from funny to serious, we want to see it!
Chamber members are also encouraged to sign up to decorate a table. It’s free and a great way to promote your business or organization.
To sign up for an Organization Showcase table, to decorate a table, or to buy or reserve event tickets, contact Stephanie Gilbert at Prairie Chic, 785-571-3955, or the Chamber office at 785-258-2115.
As 2014 draws to a close, I get so extremely excited looking ahead to all the fun things we have planned for 2015!
The Chamber’s Fun Committee has already started planning for our next Quarter Mania event on Sunday, February 8. We’ll be partnering with the PEO for this event and look to build on our one and make this one even more fun! Anyone interested in being a vendor can contact Leslie Mayes.
The Chamber has always hosted an annual banquet and awards dinner the last Monday in January. We are moving the date back two weeks to Monday, February 9 and we are looking to make it even more of a community event.
During the social hour, we’re going to have a Groups & Organizations Showcase. Have you been wanting to get involved in your community, but didn’t know where to start? We will offer all of the groups and organizations in town a place to come out and tell you who they are and what they do. If you belong to a group and would like to reserve a space during the showcase, contact Stephanie Gilbert at Prairie Chic.
We are working on a lot more new and exciting things for the banquet and awards dinner, but for now we’ll be keeping them “under our hat”. (and yes, that is a clue!)
I hope that everyone has had as fantastic of a year as we have had here at the Chamber. It is our pleasure to serve our members and our community.
If you didn’t get a chance to make it to our 2nd Annual Witches Brew Ladies afternoon, you missed a fun time! There were fun games, dancing, shopping, and MORE yummy food than we could have possibly eaten!
