With Herington Vintage Days officially in the books, it’s time to look forward to Burdick’s Labor Day Festival and Hope’s annual Heritage Festival! Three fun events three weekends in a row!
The organizers of Burdick’s event have put together quite a line up, kicking it off on Sunday with a community church service Sunday morning and a performance by the Peterson Farm Bros at 7:30pm Sunday evening. Monday, their schedule is packed full of fun things for all ages. I’ll be there with the Chamber’s fun Duck Race game; built by my talented husband Dave with supplies sponsored by Atmos Energy, Clark Lumber, and G&R Auto Parts. There will also be a 5k Run/Walk, a parade, a Pedal Power contest, entertainment, vendors, and LOTS of food including the ever popular funnel cakes! Burdick always puts together a fun day, so come on out.
The lineup for the Hope Heritage Festival is packed full again this year. Brian Haden is organizing the Car Show again and I understand they have beautiful pieces of machinery coming for far and wide. Chardy Bayes with Studio 81 Photography is organizing the Pin Up Contest again this year and she’s announced that the show “Street Rodding American Style” will be at the event this year with the show’s host, Patricia, participating!
The Chamber will be hosting the Turtle Races at Hope’s event again this year with qualifying heats at 10am and 11am and the final race at 12noon! The fastest turtle will win $50 in Local Bucks. Participants can check in after 9am with clean, undecorated turtles. There will be non-toxic paint available for decorating your racers.
The Hope Heritage Festival will also feature a parade, kids’ rides, carriage rides, a cake walk, pedal pull, hog roast, and the CMA Recording Artist Jake Gill will be the evenings featured entertainment at 7pm with the ever popular 12 Years Coming performing from 9pm – midnight.
Hope to see everyone at both events.
