Argg, matey! Looking to win $500 in booty (Local Bucks) and have a good time in the process? Gather your crew and sign up for the Wild Wench Photo Scavenger Hunt. You’ll have adventures across the Tri-County area. Sign up by July 21st and everyone on your team will receive a free t-shirt! Check out the Chamber’s Facebook page or talk to any Fun Committee member for more details.
Much thanks go out to our Fun Committee for all their hard work putting this event together and for the successful Horse Apple Bingo game last Saturday. Congratulations to Ruth Smith for picking the right square and winning $500 in Local Bucks and much thanks to Susan Mueller for bringing out a bevy of “critters” to help us pick a winner.
The Chamber’s Fun Committee members are Greg Wolff, Chardy Bayes, Brandy Moorman, Kristin Korgol, Tisha Backus, Leslie Mayes, and Stephanie Gilbert. The Fun Committee is always looking for new members; our next meeting is July 22nd at 4pm in the Chamber office when we will be finishing up the plans for the Wild Wench Photo Scavenger Hunt and starting to plan the Christmas Festival.
Gather up a crew of 5 and follow clues to find secret locations and perform tasks along the way to win $500 in Local Bucks booty! First prize is sponsored by Atmos Energy, BC Motors, Coreyll Insurance, Hodgden Powder, and Oswald Manufacturing. The second place team will each win gift bags donated by the First National Bank in Hope valued at $20 a piece!
The event will be judged on creativity not speed, so create a fun team name and theme, have fun, and explore our local communities! The event will kickoff at the West Walnut Market and will end at the Railer Café/Blockhouse Bar where we’ll raise a pint and tell tales of our adventures!
Teams that register before July 21 will receive a free t-shirt for each team member.
Official rules and team registration packets are available at the Chamber office or from any of the Chamber’s “Fun Committee” members.
Don’t miss out on a fun, new event!
Who loves to spend a day hitting garage sales? This Saturday, May 31st, is the annual Area Wide Garage Sale. We have expanded our advertising again this year with garage sale ads in the Herington Times and White City’s Prairie Post as well as the newspapers in Abilene, Salina, Junction City and the paper aboard Fort Riley. We should be seeing a lot of people from outside of our area coming in for the event.
We would like to recognize the five businesses that are sponsoring the printing of the garage sale maps and the classified ads: the West Walnut Market, AmPride, Sweet Creations, Mary Kay consultant Tammie Jinkerson-Prosch, and the Railer Café.
Garage Sale maps are available today at the Chamber office, the West Walnut Market, and Sweet Creations. On the day of the sale, they will be available at participating garage sales.
The Chamber’s Fun Committee is hard at work right now planning a fun, new event for August 2nd called the Wild Wench Photo Scavenger Hunt! You are not going to want to miss this one-start thinking about forming teams of 5 and get ready for a wacky day of pirate themed silliness!
