Trunk or Treat Plans

lantern-iconPlans are coming along nicely for the upcoming Costume Parade & Trunk or Treat event on Oct. 31.   The Fun Committee is making some changes to the annual event which we hope should eliminate some challenges we’ve faced in past years.

As in previous years, registration will be from 5pm to 5:30pm in the parking lot next to the Herington Lanes and the parade will follow the Herington fire engine up Main Street and down Broadway to Central National Bank. Once there, kids will no longer wait for the parade to finish; instead they will be directed to immediately start trunk or treating down the sidewalk. The Dickinson County EMTs will be there with safety information and reflective treat bags. We’ve also heard from several businesses and organizations that are planning on setting up trunk or treating like the American Legion Riders, G&R Auto Parts, the Throttle Jockeys, and the First Baptist Church. We hope that Broadway and Main are filled with individuals, businesses, and groups out supporting our kids and giving them a fun afternoon.
